Mandatory Courses

ICB'S CHEMICAL SAFETY COMMISSION (CSQ) CHEMICAL STORAGE, HANDLING, AND DISPOSAL

The course is mandatory for faculty, staff, and students who attend the Institute’s laboratories. It is also required for those who attended more than 5 years ago.

BIOSAFETY AND GOOD LABORATORY PRACTICES AT THE ICB

All those who need to handle genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in their research projects must present a copy of the Biosafety and Good Laboratory Practices Course Certificate from the ICB at USP, or another certificate deemed equivalent by the CCP.

USE OF ANIMALS FOR EXPERIMENTATION (ED. 2023)

All those whose project involves animal experimentation must, obligatorily, present a copy of their participation in the Training Course on the Use of Experimental Animals.

RADIOLOGICAL PROTECTION

All those who need to handle radioactive material in their research projects must present a copy of the Radioprotection Course Certificate from ICB at USP, or another certificate deemed equivalent by the CCP.

The ICB Radioprotection Center has the mission of advising the users of ionizing radiation emissions sources at the ICB-USP, with the purpose of providing quality radiological protection, in view of the following objectives: a) to be an interface between the institutional community and the radiological protection system, both at the university and the inspection agencies; b) to organize and preserve data; c) to promote training and provide appropriate technical information to users.

In the post-graduation course, students can take ICB 5720 – Radiological Protection.
