RCGI invites you to the Colloquium with Prof. Fábio Ribeiro, Director of the NSF Engineering Research Center (CISTAR). Theme: “Energy Transition: The Challenge of Our Century” on Wednesday, February 21st, from 10 to 12 p.m.
Moderation: Professor Caetano Miranda.

Fabio H. Ribeiro is currently the W. Nicholas and Elizabeth H. Delgass Distinguished Professor in Chemical Engineering and Director of the National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center on the Innovative and Strategic Transformation of Alkane Resources (CISTAR) at the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering, Purdue University. The nationwide CISTAR is a successful five-university and 32 industry partner collaboration to develop transformative technological innovations in catalysis, separations, and process enhancements and build a new diverse and innovative workforce to responsibly realize U.S. shale gas potential in reducing carbon footprints. His research, with over 165 publications in scholarly journals, is in the field of catalysis and reaction engineering and is characterized by technical expertise in understanding and applying the principles of chemical reaction kinetics and of in situ and operando characterization tools. Ribeiro is also passionately engaged in leveraging these findings, together with the CISTAR team, to tackle the opportunity and challenge of our century: Energy Transition. Ribeiro served as the editor for the Journal of Catalysis and the chair for the American Institute of Chemical Engineer’s Catalysis and Reaction Engineering Division. He is a fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. His achievements have been noted with many honors.
