It aims to develop vocabulary, grammatical structures, and discourse for textual comprehension and production in both oral and written Portuguese. Project Development

- This module includes seminar-style classes designed to guide students in writing essays on subjects discussed in the course, such as the Brazilian economy, doing business in Brazil, agribusiness, and accounting practices within Brazil. The aim is to help students incorporate Brazil’s unique institutional and cultural factors into their analysis. Students will choose a specific theme and are expected to conduct both theoretical and empirical research, using various sources to write a coherent and insightful essay. Guidelines for writing and evaluating the essay will be provided during the lectures. Presentations will be required to facilitate the exchange of ideas and provide feedback. The course also involves in-class discussions about technical visits and lectures from other modules. Instructors will offer ongoing support and guidance, focusing on enhancing students’ understanding of Brazil’s business environment and improving their analytical skills.
Understanding and Exploring Brazil

- Lectures will comprise seminars on Brazil’s characteristics and national case studies. Technical trips will encompass visits to companies and cultural sites in Ribeirão Preto and São Paulo. The objective is to provide insight into the organization of Brazilian society, with a focus on cultural and economic aspects. Should unforeseen circumstances necessitate schedule adjustments, alternative cultural options may be selected.
