Welcome to the Genetic Epidemiology Group at USP!

Our work focuses on uncovering and understanding the role that genetic variation plays on shaping complex traits and diseases in human populations within different environmental contexts. We apply epidemiological methods to investigate the impact of human genetic variation on health and disease, and genetically-informed methods to assess causal relationships between exposures and outcomes of public health interest.

We are also dedicated to create and strengthen national and regional collaborative research networks with the ultimate goal of improving health conditions for Latin American populations.
