RESEARCH TOPICS
We develop research in several areas from control theory
-
Digital control
Discrete control techniques appropriate to be implemented in modern microcontrollers, such as proportional-integral-derivative control (PID) and kalman filter (KF) -
Optimum control
Control techniques that optimize a desired cost function, such as model predictive control (MPC), linear quadratic regulator (LQR) and linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG)
-
Robust control
Control techniques that deal with uncertainties in the model, such as H-infinity control (H∞) and sliding mode control (SMC)
-
Nonlinear control
Control techniques that deal with nonlinear systems, such as feedback linearization (FL), sliding mode control (SMC) and extended Kalman filter (EKF)
-
Automotive Control Systems
Control algorithms for ADAS systems, such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS) and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
-
Control of Mechatronic Systems
Design, construction and control of mechatronic systems, focusing on didactic kits for validating advanced control strategies
