The Laboratory of markers and cellular signaling cancer (LMSCC) has as coordinator Prof Andréia Machado Leopoldino, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (FCFRP-USP). Our goal is to identify molecular markers for cancer diagnoses and prognosis and study of function of those molecules in cancer progression. We are studying head and neck squamous cell carcinoma focusing on discovery of new targets and therapeutic strategies. The molecular markers investigated by our group are epigenetics modifications, miRNAs, DNA, proteins, and lipids, which impact cell differentiation, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, cell death, DNA damage repair, oxidative stress, autophagy, drug resistance. Our research time includes undergraduate and graduate students, post doctors and technicians. Moreover, international and national researchers are collaborating in our projects.
