Travel Information

VISA

Visitors to Brazil can check if a visa is needed at the Brazilian Consulate portal.

The Local Committee can provide a letter of invitation if you need to present it for visa or academic purposes.

Passport

The passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your planned date of departure from Brazil.

Travel Insurance

If you come from abroad, you may consider an insurance policy of your choice to protect your interests in relation to cancellations, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property. The conference organizers cannot take any responsibility for participants failing to arrange their own insurance.

Exchange Money

REAL (R$) is the currency used in Brazil. It is possible to find some options for exchanging Money at Guarulhos (GRU) or Viracopos (VCP) airports. It is also possible to exchange in the departure countries. Payments by credit cards are also possible in most of the shops, restaurants, etc.

HOW TO GET TO SÃO PAULO CITY

By plane

There are direct flights or simple connections to São Paulo from most of metropolitan regions in worldwide.

Guarulhos Airport (GRU)  is the airport through which most foreign participants will arrive. It is located in the city of Guarulhos, less than 60 minutes from downtown Sao Paulo. From the airport to the city, you can take an express train running hourly to Luz Station. You also have the option for taxis and transport apps.

Congonhas Airport (CGH) is located in the city and has a number of flights to different regions in Brazil.

Viracopos International Airport (VCP) is located near the city of Campinas, 90 min from Downtown Sao Paulo. Some international flights are available to/from this airport, most of them with connections in Florida and Lisbon. There are shuttles available form VCP to Sao Paulo.

By bus

There are three major bus stations in São Paulo City with destinations to all Brazilian regions and a few options to other South American countries. Please, visit Terminal Rodoviário do Tiête, Barra Funda and Jabaquara for further information.

In addition to the taxis, apps for urban transport are also available and widely used in Brazil.
