Publications created by the team of the RCGI’s Project 21 deal with the regulations of the energy sector; event will have a roundtable discussion on thermoelectric generation
This coming Wednesday, October 24, the RCGILex team will launch two digital publications: the Energy, Environment, and Regulations Bulletin and RCGILex News. The first is published twice a year with 20 pages and contents composed of an interview and two articles regarding subjects related to the regulation of the energy sector. The second is a monthly newsletter that compiles the most significant news for the period regarding regulatory subjects of the energy sector. The RCGILex is an interactive repository that brings together legal, political, and regulatory aspects of natural gas and that can be enriched by topics related to the objects of the regulations. The publications will be available on the site http://rcgilex.com.br/
The launch will take place at the headquarters of the FAPESP Shell Research Centre for Gas Innovation (RCGI), in the University of São Paulo’s Polytechnic School (Poli-USP), in São Paulo, with breakfast beginning at 9:00 a.m. After the presentation of the new publications, there will be a roundtable discussion on thermoelectricity, including a brief talk regarding the Substitute of Bill no. 6407/2013, given by legislative consultant Israel Lacerda de Araújo and with the participation of Professor Edmilson Moutinho, of USP’s Institute for Energy and the Environment (IEE/USP), and moderated by Alexandre Breda, from Shell. They will discuss the issue of including the natural gas thermoelectric generation in the Brazilian electrical context and how it is dealt with in this Substitute Bill.
“With the new Bulletin and our Newsletter, the RCGILex intends to contribute to the energy sector by including analyses and discussions within the scope of the main issues currently involved in this area. Along this line, holding a discussion about the Substitute for Bill no. 6407/2013 makes it possible for agents to set forth their perspectives and collaborate with the democratic and regulatory process, within the context of the recent Public Resumption of many issues that were the object of the Gas for Growth initiative,” states Hirdan Katarina de Medeiros Costa, Coordinator of RCGILex.
The event will be attended by Alexandre Breda and Camila Brandão, from Shell; Júlio Meneghini, Bruno Carmo, and Gustavo Assi, RCGI Directors, as well as Coordinators of the Centre’s programs and projects; the entire RCGILex team; and representatives of a number of institutions whose focus includes regulating the energy sector.
