The RNPAVC has been created in 31 january of 2014 by a public health policy (“Portaria 195”) and consolidated in 27 september of 2017. It was created in order to reduce the socio economic damage caused by vascular cerebral diseases, in special, stroke. Since its creation, the RNPAVC has been promoting dozens of new researches (epidemiological, pre clinical and clinical) compromised to solve national problems. Up to the present moment, efforts are focused in improving the accuracy of acute cerebrovascular diseases’ epidemiology. Besides, there is an effort to set up new diagnostic interventions and new therapeutic interventions from knowledge that had been obtained from research in basic areas.
