The Graduate Program in Sciences – Collective Health (PPGSC) of the University of São Paulo Medical School was established in 1972 and is among the oldest in Brazil. It offers Academic M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees for professionals who work and/or are interested in collective health, regardless of the background.

PPGSC’s distinguished trajectory accredits it as a program of excellence in Brazil, scoring seven (highest score) in the CAPES’ 2010-2012 three-year evaluation and and 2013-2016 four-year evaluation.

PPGSC is centered around the three major areas of Collective Health: Epidemiology; Social and Human Sciences in Health and Health policy, planning and evaluation.

The interdisciplinary environment of PPGSC integrates professors with outstanding national and international academic output. PPGSC nourishes traditional cooperations with national and international organizations and universities in the field of health. It encourages international exchanges of students via both research internships abroad and double-degree agreements.
