Travel and Accomodation

Airports

Guarulhos (GRU) – International Hub
As the city’s main international gateway, Guarulhos is located further from the center. For reaching the city, we primarily recommend the Airport Bus Service, an executive bus connecting the airport directly to key locations like Avenida Paulista. A train connection is also available, we will link a video guide showing how to navigate it step-by-step. For safety, avoid unauthorized transport offers inside the terminals. Sticking to official taxis or Uber drivers is safe and also a common choice.

Congonhas (CGH) – Domestic Flights
Located closer to the city center, Congonhas operates exclusively domestic routes. It is a convenient option if you are arriving from another Brazilian city or traveling to other parts of the country.

Viracopos (VCP) – Regional Option
Situated in the city of Campinas, Viracopos is farther away and less commonly used. However, it serves as a viable alternative, particularly for those flying with Azul Airlines, which provides complimentary shuttle buses to São Paulo for its passengers alongside paid bus options.

Accomodations

São Paulo is South America’s largest city. It offers an intense cultural and gastronomic scene with a wide range of museums, restaurants, and distinct neighborhoods to explore. Celebrated for its cultural diversity, the city stands out as a premier culinary and artistic capital. However, it is a fast-paced metropolis with heavy traffic, so choosing where to stay is important for your trip.
Since the congress takes place at two different venues, the University of São Paulo (USP) and MAC-USP near Ibirapuera Park, we suggest three areas for accommodation, depending on your preference: Pinheiros, Paulista, and Ibirapuera.
Below are our hotel recommendations for each of these locations. If you prefer to stay in another area and are unsure about the location, please feel free to contact us. We will be happy to help.

Pinheiros

A practical choice, located about 6 km from both venues. It has good subway connections and a wide variety of restaurants. Commuting to USP by bus, taxi, or Uber is straightforward, and reaching Ibirapuera is not far by taxi or Uber, depending on traffic.

Known as the cultural heart of São Paulo, this area is filled with museums and restaurants. It has excellent public transport connections.
