LaPCat at the AIChE Annual Meeting 2025

Between November 2 and 6, 2025, PhD students Lucas Alves and Leonardo Avilez, postdoctoral researcher Morgana Rosset, and Professor Rita Maria de Brito Alves, coordinator of the laboratory, participated in the AIChE Annual Meeting 2025, held in Boston, Massachusetts.

The AIChE Annual Meeting is the leading international forum for chemical engineers seeking innovation, learning, and professional development. The event brings together academic and industrial researchers at various career stages to discuss advances and trends in chemical engineering.

During the conference, the group presented four works in the areas of hydrogen production from ammonia and CO₂ conversion into value-added products.

PhD student Lucas Alves presented the work “Synthesis and catalytic evaluation of ferrite-perovskite catalysts for CO₂ hydrogenation to light olefins.”

PhD student Leonardo Avilez presented two papers: “Evaluation of H₂+N₂ mixture separation routes in the context of ammonia decomposition: pressure-swing adsorption versus cryogenic process” and Comaparative analysis of one- and two-dimensional membrane reactor models: a casestudy on ammonia decomposition”.

Postdoctoral researcher Morgana Rosset presented the work “The influence of nickel dispersion and alumina structure on the ammonia decomposition.”
