The overall objective of Professor Bentley´s research program is the study of mechanisms and ways to deliver topically (skin and mucosa) drugs with different physicochemical properties. The research is focused on the development of nanodispersions of liquid crystalline phases, and others nanoparticles which present interesting characteristics of interaction with skin that can improve the skin penetration of drugs, such as peptides and oligonucleotides. In this aspect, the topical delivery of siRNA is been explored.
