As the COVID-19 vaccination program progresses and many activities are slowly getting back to the “new normal”, we will attempt to have a pilot experiment of having part of the S-PLUS community gather in the meeting site, in person. We then encourage those who are fully vaccinated and able to gather locally with other S-PLUS colleagues, to participate. At this point, we are not encouraging flights or long distance travel using public transportation.
Please note: we recommend that those who are planning to come to the meeting site, and will give talks, please pre-record your oral presentations and we will provide you with instructions on where to send them, before the meeting.
Those that are fully vaccinated (and can arrange their own transportation to get to Ubatuba safely) are welcome to join the S-PLUS Collaboration Workspace on Slack and the #16th-local-gathering channel, where we will be organizing groups to attend the virtual meeting together (separated into small groups).
Given that we need to make reservations almost immediately, to secure our accommodations, we ask you to please let us know by Oct 25, 2021, next Monday.
We hope to host a fully in-person meeting in March 2022.
