Plant Breeding Legacy and Future:
Empowering the Next Generation of Breeders
This special 10th edition celebrates ten years of learning, research and partnership in plant breeding. It will be held together with the 5th Encontro Paulista de Melhoramento de Plantas (5th EPMP) at ESALQ/USP in Piracicaba, Brazil.
The 10th International Meeting on Plant Breeding celebrates ten years of science, training and teamwork. It will bring together students, researchers, plant breeders and professionals from companies and public institutions.
The program will include invited talks, discussions, oral and poster presentations, short courses and social activities. The main topics include quantitative genetics, genomics, data analysis, artificial intelligence, biotechnology and new tools for plant breeding.
Join us in Piracicaba for three days of science, training and new connections in plant breeding.
Meet the invited speakers from universities, research centers and companies.

To enable participants to understand and apply fundamental concepts of Bayesian Inference in the analysis of Genotype × Environment (G×E) interaction, with emphasis on the use of Bayesian models for the estimation of genotypic parameters and posterior-based inference in multi-environment trials using R. The course is structured as a fully hands-on training, with theoretical concepts immediately applied in practice throughout all modules.
In this course, we will focus on the fundamentals of applying Genomic Prediction for plant breeding program by fitting several linear mixed models (LMM) using different statistical methodologies. An array of R libraries will be used in this course including BGLR, ASReml-R and rrBLUP. This course will use real datasets and will focus on interpretation of results and discuss practical implications of the use of genomic prediction models in the context of operational breeding programs and their strategies.
