Randomized, controlled clinical trial, with 1: 1 allocation, open, with blind evaluation of clinical outcomes. The primary objectives are to determine whether more intense pressure control in the stroke population impacts the reduction of major cardiovascular events and to determine whether an intensive BP reduction strategy versus a standard treatment target will produce a greater reduction in the incidence of total and event mortality major cardiovascular events (cardiovascular mortality, non-fatal AMI, non-fatal stroke) individually.
