BioSMat

Welcome to the NAP BioSMat page

The Research Nucleus on Materials for Biosystems- BioSMat is formed by several national and international research and educational institutions. These institutions have experience in the development, production and characterization of composite and nanocomposite materials based on organic and inorganic matrix reinforced with natural fibers, agroindustrial waste and non-conventional materials in general.

The creation f NAP BioSMat provided the follow achievements:

  • Greater interaction between the teams involved with the project;
  • Research on the subject of sustainable materials with sources of raw materials from the agro-industrial sector and with proposals for application in this sector;
  • Improvement in human resources to meet the needs of the growing Brazilian agribusiness market;
  • Creation of study groups with the participation of national and international experts from various institutions that participate in the Nucleus, and presentation to the academic and scientific community of the results of the researches developed and the technological products obtained.
