4AirCRAFT-Air Carbon Recycling for Aviation Fuel Technology

Coordinator
Reinaldo Giudici

The goal of the AirCRAFT project is to develop a next generation of stable and selective catalysts for the direct conversion of CO2 to liquid fuels for the aviation industry, enabling the synthesis of sustainable jet fuel. 4AirCRAFT will overcome current challenges by combining three main reactions in one reactor to increase the rate of CO2 conversion and reduce energy consumption. It is a project in the context of Horizon 2020, Call: H2020-LC-SC3-2018-2019-2020 (Buidling a Low-Carbon, Climate Resilient Future: Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy). It is a collaborative project between international institutions: Fundación para el Desarrollo de las Nuevas Tecnologías del Hidrógeno en Aragón, Hokkaido University, Helsingin Yliopisto, Universität Bielefeld, Basque center for materials, applications and nanostructures, Universita Degli Studi Di Torino, Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, Uiversiteit Antwerpen, Universidade de São Paulo. The project is funded by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (No. JPMJSC2102) and the Foundation for Research Support of the State of São Paulo (FAPESP Project 2022/04751-0).
