The Mechanical Engineering course at Poli-USP is a national reference. The curriculum was designed to offer a generalist yet in-depth education, enabling the engineer to design, analyze, and optimize mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing systems.
Curriculum Structure:
Basic Cycle (1st to 4th semester): Focus on Exact Sciences (Differential and Integral Calculus, Physics, Linear Algebra), Computing, and fundamentals of Mechanics (Statics, Dynamics, Solid Mechanics).
Professionalizing Cycle (5th to 8th semester): In-depth study of Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Machine Elements, Control, Vibrations, and Manufacturing.
Course Conclusion Project (TCC): Developed in the last two semesters, integrating the knowledge acquired.
Differentiators and Activities:
Study Certifications: The student can obtain certificates in specific areas such as Manufacturing, Automotive Engineering, Machine Design, and Biomedical Engineering by completing specific sets of elective courses.
Laboratories: Access to 23 specialized laboratories, including mechanical testing, metrology, machining, and control systems.
Extension: There are several extension project opportunities linked to PME, including participation in competition teams (Fórmula, Baja, Aero) and social projects.
