Most Influential Scientists

On October 10, Elsevier BV published the study Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators, which updates the ranking of the most influential scientists in the world for the year 2021. The data were taken from Elsevier’s ICSR Lab considering the profile of researchers in the Scopus database on September 1, 2022, for an update of the study that has been carried out annually since 2019.

Researchers selection was based on the top 100,000 scientists, in addition to including the top 2% by research subfield (for all scientists with at least 5 published papers). Data were presented in two categories: impact throughout the career and impact throughout the year 2021. Brazil was represented by a total of 844 researchers in the career category and, 1212 researchers in the annual category referring to 2021.

Among the professors at the Lorena School of Engineering, in the impact category throughout the year 2021, are Professors Anuj Kumar Chandel (DEBIQ), Inês Conceição Roberto (DEBIQ), Silvio Silvério da Silva (DEBIQ) and Valdeir Arantes (DEBIQ) . Postdoctoral fellow Avinash Prabhakarrao Ingle, FAPESP fellow from March/2018 to February/2021, supervised by Prof. Silvio Silvério da Silva is also on the list.

In the career-long impact category are Professors Alain Laurent Marie Robin (DEMAR) and Inês Conceição Roberto (DEBIQ).

The Department of Biotechnology congratulates researchers who are among the most influential in world science!
