Prof. Fernando Segato

Graduated in pharmacy and biochemistry (2002), with doctorate’s degree in genetics and molecular biology of microorganisms by the University of São Paulo (2008) and post-doctorate in biotechnology and development of expression systems by the Oklahoma State University, USA; was also researcher in the area of biotechnology of the Technical Research Center of Finland (VTT). Has experience in Genetics, with emphasis on Molecular Genetics and of Microorganisms, acting mainly on the following themes: filamentous fungi, differential expression, heterologous expression, interfering RNA, drug resistance, prospection and characterization of enzymes, degradation of lignocellulosic materials, proteome and transcriptome of thermophilic organisms.
