Fellowships

– The Graduate Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology of the School of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (Programa de Pós-Graduação em Obstetrícia e Ginecologia da FMUSP) is supported by the national development agencies for Research Projects and human resource training, namely Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES, Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior), the National Council for Scientific and  Technological Development (CNPq, Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico), and the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP, Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo). These agencies make fellowships available to Graduate Students.

– At present, the Program holds 11(eleven) fellowships awarded by CAPES within the Social Demand Program (Programa Demanda Social), 4 (four) of which are for the Master’s Program and 7 (seven) for the Doctoral Program. A Student’s application for a CAPES fellowship is submitted by the Student’s Advisor to the Program’s Fellowship Committee.

– The Program’s Fellowship Committee is responsible for selecting, awarding, and monitoring the CAPES fellowship recipients. The eligibility and classification criteria for the Fellowships are contingent on the strict bearing of the workload demanded by the Program, the Student’s socioeconomic status, and the Student’s final score on the selection exam. The number of recipients depends on the number of available Fellowships.

– The Fellowships made available by FAPESP are awarded directly to the Student upon request from the Advisor (http://www.fapesp.br/bolsas/).

– In 2020, the CNPq changed the distribution system of the Master’s and Doctoral Fellowships, which are now offered through Public Notices/Calls and are awarded directly to the Student upon request from the Advisor (http://www.cnpq.br/web/guest/pagina-inicial)
