MINERAL EXPLORATION

The team from the geology area of NAP.Mineração/USP creates conceptual empirical and exploratory models of small deposits, primary and secondary, of the main minerals used by artisanal mining so that these activities can be carried out in an economically viable way in artisanal and small-scale mining responsible scale.

The objective is the detection of the correlated mineralized systems, the delineation of the morphology and the estimation of the elemental contents of these deposits at a local scale. Drilling, a key element in mineral exploration campaigns, is used by the NAP.Mineração/USP team as a methodology for guiding geological research, to confirm the results obtained by the fastest and most economical indirect methods, covering a minimum of holes in each type of deposit.
