He was a systems analyst, head of a seismic team in the Amazon, mine geologist, regional mining coordinator, plant manager and operational manager in Brazil of one of the largest mining companies in the country. Professional with over 30 years of experience in the industrial and Mining, with local and corporate operations, structuring areas, systematizing processes and defining operational strategies and guidelines, with a high focus on results and people. He has coordinated the preparation of the Sustainable Mining Chapter for the Government of Minas Gerais’ Disaster Task Force at Samarco and has been leading I9 Mining projects at the Mining Hub associated with dam monitoring and tailings recovery. He currently works in applied technological development, where, in addition to developing his own projects, he coordinates the area of innovation and sustainability at NAP.Mineração/USP in supporting companies in structuring RD&I sectors and developing innovation and sustainable mining projects.

Professional with over 25 years of career in the mining industry, having held executive positions in large companies such as Vale, Mineração Rio do Norte and Anglo American. He was general manager and head of operational and strategic planning areas, where he led the implementation of innovation and sustainable development projects in the companies where he worked. He is currently a collaborating researcher at the University of São Paulo and works in partnership with the DPI (Development Partner Institute) in Brazil. In addition, he serves as a member of the Gold Matters Project for the development of responsible small-scale mining in South America and Africa.
