On-line workshop: Rewriting Judgments from Feminists Perspectives

The Law School of Ribeirão Preto (FDRP – USP) and the Institute of Advanced Studies of Ribeirão Preto promoted, on the 9th and 10th of September 2021, the on-line workshop Rewriting Judgments from Feminists Perspectives.

The workshop integrates the project Feminists Judgments, witch follows up experiences from other countries in coordinating efforts between feminists academics and legal professionals to the exercise of rewriting judgments from feminists perspectives. The goal was to evaluate how the feminist legal logic can transform judgments or make them sensitive to the interests, needs and perspectives of women and other marginalized groups.

Two discussion tables were held over the two days of workshop. At the first table, Historic and experiences of the Projects of Feminists Judgments, we had as speakers the Kent Law School teachers Rosemary Hunter and Erika Rackley and the sub director of Postgraduate Research Julie MacCandless, all of them connected to the Kent University, in the United Kingdom. At the second table, Building the Project of Feminists Judgments in Brazil, we had the participation of researchers and academics from institutions as the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ), Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG), Federal University São Paulo (Unifesp), Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), Federal University of Pará (UFPA), São Paulo State University (Unesp), University of Brasília (UnB) e Bahia State University (UNEB), among others.
