XIII Congress of the Brazilian Association of Sociology and Law – WG Gender and Law: feminist experiences and resistance in the Latin American context

On December 15 and 16, 2022, professors Tatyane Oliveira (UFPB), Gilmara Joane Macedo de Medeiros (UFERSA) and Laís Godoi (UEMG) will coordinate the working group “Gender and Law: feminist experiences and resistance in the Latin American context” at the XIII Congress of the Brazilian Association of Sociology and Law, organized by the Brazilian Association of Researchers in Sociology of Law – ABraSD.

The group will promote dialogues about the implications of feminist incidence and praxis on capitalist, colonial, racial and patriarchal relations in the legal field, whether in the production of legal norms, in their application by the justice system or in the daily struggle for rights. As stated in the abstract, the group will accept papers that propose to reflect on intersectional experiences of women in the incidence with the law, seeking to map reflections and experiences of construction of rights outside the institutional space, as well as feminist and women’s resistance and articulations within the justice system.
