(Project concluded on November 30, 2020)
The main objective of this project is to develop a burner for Natural Gas based on the concept of the oxy-fuel. In this concept, the oxygen required for the combustion is separated from the air prior to the combustion, which takes place in an environment composed of recycled flue gas rather than by air. One way of reducing the CO2 emissions of combustion processes is the Carbon Capture and Storage technique. The oxy-fuel concept makes it easier to capture the CO2 from flue gases. The burner will be investigated for CH4/H2/C3H8/CO2 blends, using state-of-the-art laser diagnostic systems and computational methods.
