
Julio Meneghini will receive the diploma of full member in May 2024, during the ABC Magna Meeting.
Held on December 4th, Monday, the last Ordinary General Assembly of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC) elected professor Julio Romano Meneghini, director of the Center for Research and Innovation in Greenhouse Gases (RCGI), based at the University of São Paulo (USP), as one of its new full members.
Meneghini will receive the diploma of full member in May 2024, during the ABC Magna Meeting, to be held in Rio de Janeiro. To occupy this position, his name was nominated by other full members and approved by the majority of this group.
This is the first position held by the professor at ABC.
Since 2017, he has also been a full member of the Academy of Sciences of the State of São Paulo (ACIESP).
The Brazilian Academy of Sciences is one of the main entities representing scientists in Brazil and aims to contribute to the development of science and technology, education, and social well-being in the country. In addition to Meneghini, 52 other members were elected, 22 of whom were full members. 60% of those elected were women.
