Gustavo Roque da Silva Assi

Biography

Associate Professor at the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering of the University of São Paulo, Brazil. Graduate in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from the University of São Paulo (2003), MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (2005) and PhD in Aeronautics from Imperial College, London (2009). Research visitor at the University of Oxford (2013-14) and Caltech (2016-17). Research topics include fluidelasticity, fluid-structure interaction, flow-induced vibration, experimental hydrodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, philosophy of technology and the interaction between science and Christian faith.
