STARTUP
Goals: This startup’s main goal is to solve the problem of falling trees in urban areas, aiming for minimal tree loss while offering ways of evaluating the likelihood of falling, the failure mechanism and fall direction of any target tree.
Resume: Treetronics was founded by a team of USP researchers after a breakthrough development in tree analysis methodology by one of the founders, Luís Otávio Trotti.
Through the use of LiDAR scanning technology and a proprietary pruning algorithm, tree structural integrity is evaluated and correctional pruning instructions are issued to not only improve tree situation, but maximize its resistance to wind and other loading. This optimality is guaranteed by the algorithm thanks to its basis in Topology Optimization, a cutting-edge design method usually reserved for high performance engineering projects.
Partners: USP, RCGI, Inova-USP
