Abstract: The sustainability of offshore wind farms as a renewable alternative for the national energy matrix demands the improvement of the process of evaluation and mitigation of socio-environmental impacts, making it compatible with conservation of the benefits provided by nature, regional economic dynamics and existing public policies. Advancing in the incorporation of the ecosystem approach, international experiences and national socio-environmental vulnerabilities in the environmental impact assessment, the project will create theoretical and practical bases for identifying the impacts caused by the activity and ways to mitigate them.
