We’re excited to announce that the University of São Paulo (USP) will be participating in VivaTech 2025 for the very first time! From June 11 to 14, at the Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, this landmark event—Europe’s largest startup and technology fair—will gather global tech leaders, startups, corporations, and investors to drive innovation and address the world’s most pressing challenges.
USP’s debut at VivaTech will be in partnership with FAPESP (São Paulo Research Foundation), and the USP stand will be next to APEX Brazil, highlighting the strength of Brazilian science, entrepreneurship, and technology on an international platform. This opportunity was made possible through an agreement signed with VivaTech in November 2024, when a USP delegation led by Rector Carlos Gilberto Carlotti Junior visited France to strengthen international academic and innovation partnerships.
At the event, USP will host a 100-square-meter exhibition stand, where it will present disruptive projects and initiatives that represent Brazil’s cutting-edge contributions to science and technology. 20 startups and other technologies, supported by USP and FAPESP will showcase their advances in environmental innovation, healthcare, energy transition, artificial intelligence, and sustainability.
Visitors will also experience an immersive multisensory installation simulating the Amazon rainforest, developed in collaboration with Natura, using visual, sound, and olfactory elements to transport attendees into the heart of Brazil’s biodiversity, among other experiences.
This participation marks a significant milestone for USP, RCGI, and FAPESP, underlining their commitment to internationalization, science-driven entrepreneurship, and the promotion of sustainable, high-impact innovation.
