Research Lines:

International policies, systems and institutions in Global Health and Sustainability:

It intends to analyze the dynamics of the processes of economic globalization and globalization on policies, systems and institutions related to health and sustainable environment, with emphasis on the new role of the state in contemporary society relations and international agreements, changes in demographic profiles, in emerging, and reemerging in chronic and health, nutrition, food security and environmental diseases.

  • Sub Line: Sanitary Safety, Nutritional, Food and Environmental Safety

This sub line aims to deepen the understanding of global issues related to health, nutrition, food and environmental security, with emphasis on the following topics:
Demographic transitions and emerging, re-emerging and chronic diseases; international normative framework, technological innovation, informational data banks and their local and global implications; contamination and risks and benefits in production processes.

  • Sub Line: State Functions, Policies, Institutions and International Health and Environmental Systems

It aims to deepen, through investigations, global issues related to policies, institutions and health and environmental systems, with emphasis on the following topics:
Functions of state and international systems of social protection and health, international relations, negotiations and conflicts of interest;
National systems International and Human rights;
Diplomacy, international cooperation, and transnational social movements.

Sustainability, Human Displacement and Contemporary Lifestyles

This line aims to analyze and understand issues related to nature and society, technological innovation and culture of sustainability, and conducting research on social movements, identity migration, displacement, and human livelihoods in the contemporary World.

  • Sub Line: Sustainability and Technological Innovation

It intends to analyze the dynamics of political, social and technological processes, focused on sustainability culture, with emphasis on economic development, production and management in clean technologies, waste, transport and mobility process.

  • Sub Line: Mobility, Human Displacement and Contemporary Lifestyles

It aims to examine the importance given to human experience, exploring the diversity of meanings that emerge in everyday practice and ways of life with an emphasis on human mobility and the conditions of life, suffering and social risk, symbolic representations of collective life, multiculturalism, social networks, construction of identities and subjectivities in contemporary consumption.
