Research Line: Epidemiology of diseases, health problems and their determinants

This line aims to study the occurrence and distribution of diseases, conditions and health-related events in specific populations as well as their determinants, contributing to the formulation and improvement of control strategies and setting priorities in public policy in the area of health.

Research line: Organization of production processes and worker health

This line aims to investigate the condition and work as a determinant of health conditions of the employee; to analyze and to propose public policies related to worker health; and build methodologies for monitoring and intervention to improve working conditions and prevention risks. Comprise the topics of interest of this line: Journeys and rhythms of work, work relationships, models of organizing production and work processes, management and participation of workers in the labor process, contracts and bonds; precarious work; psychosocial factors work; technological and industrial risks, analysis, monitoring and prevention; diseases and injuries related to work.

Studies the state-society relations, the practices of power in the realm of public policy and management of health care, related to the right to health.

Research line: environmental health, livelihoods and sustainability

Search through interdisciplinarity understand the complexity of environmental problems and human health in contemporary societies. It analyzes the critical perspective that the concepts of globalization and transnationalism accelerate new dynamics in contemporary life and that environmental and social problems manifest themselves globally and needs to be considered by the national states and public opinion in the geopolitical level, its effects and social, cultural impacts, economic and environmental.

Research Line: Health, life cycles and social conditions

This line studies the life cycles considered as constitutive of the human being, which is manifested throughout the course of life in the specific contexts: biological, psychological and social processes. Its goal is to generate a multidisciplinary perspective, knowledge related to transformation and human development, health and physical or mental illness of groups of people in different social conditions and life stages.
