Special Students

Special students are those enrolled in isolated courses and not registered in any Graduate Program at USP. Undergraduate students may enroll in the Program after approval is provided by the Program’s Coordinating Committee.

The enrollment of special students must be approved by the Program’s Coordinating Committee after consent is provided by the chair of the course. Special students are entitled to a certificate of approval issued by the CPG.

Students regularly enrolled in the Program may request to take advantage of the credits concerning the courses taken as a special student in the 36 months before regular enrollment, according to the provisions of Art. 54 of the Regulations of the Graduate Program at USP (READ MORE)

Period for enrolling as special student: Preferably up to 10 days before the beginning of classes.

Submission for special student must be sent via online form (CLICK HERE), by sending pdf files of the following documentation:

Application for special student must be sent via e-mail mpto@usp.br accompanied by a PDF file of the following documents:

  1. Legible copy of RG, document from the Regional Profession Council or national driver’s license or RNM (for foreigners); 
  2. Legible copy of CPF; 
  3. Legible copy of undergraduate program (front and back), with MEC registration. This registration is not required if the undergraduate degree was obtained overseas. In the absence of a diploma, present a declaration of the institution of origin issued in the last 3 months, stating the date on which the degree was awarded; 
  4. Course registration form filled with the course’s acronym (The professor’s signature will be provided by the program). CLICK HERE. 

Special students will be charged an enrollment fee of R$ 214.00 per course, which shall be paid through a bank payment slip after the Graduate service check the documents. Registration will only be effective after receipt of payment is sent via e-mail (inscricaopg@fm.usp.br) or after the bank’s confirmation (two days after payment).

There will be no refunds if the student requests enrollment to be canceled.
