Laboratory of Studies and Actions in Occupational Therapy and Gerontology – Geron-TO

Objectives:

The Geron-TO laboratory is intended to develop teaching activities within the stricto sensu undergraduate and graduate programs and research and extension in the field of Occupational Therapy in gerontology with an emphasis on health promotion. Since 2004, professor Maria Helena Morgani de Almeida has conducted regular projects and supervised IC via FAPESP and other funding agencies, either in isolation or in partnership with other researchers. She has also advised final projects and residency projects, some of which with the occupational therapist working in the laboratory as co-advisor. Both the professor and occupational therapist have regularly published the results from the studies conducted within the Geron-TO. Since 2017, the professor has advised graduate programs in the previously mentioned topics, and advised two graduate students in 2019 and 2020.

  • Occupational Therapy Residents from the Multi-professional Residency Program in Health Promotion and Care Provided in Hospital Settings – Area of concentration Adult and Elderly individuals;
  • Advisees from graduate programs: Rehabilitation Sciences, Professional Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and Social Inclusion Processes and Inter-unit Professional Master’s degree – Interdisciplinary Training in Health.
