GUIDELINES FOR ENROLLING IN THE GRADUATE PROGRAM AND COURSES

  1. The approved candidates must register in the “GRADUATE STUDENT REGISTRATION” by completing a form available on the Forms tab on the website (HERE). The form must be signed, scanned, and sent to mpto@usp.br.

The approved candidates must complete a form to enroll in the courses – the form available on the Form tab on the website (HERE). The form must be signed, scanned, and sent to mpto@usp.br. The program’s secretariat is responsible for collecting the signature of the respective professor and advisor. Information regarding the courses available in the 1st semester of 2021 is also available in the website (HERE).

DEADLINES

The minimum term for depositing the thesis is 12(twelve) months and 24 (twenty-four) months maximum after enrolling in the program.

In exceptional cases, duly justified, students may request an extension for a maximum of 120 (one hundred and twenty) days.

MINIMUM CREDITS

Students must complete 96 (ninety-six) credit units: 32 (thirty-two) course credits and 64 (sixty-four) thesis credits.

Mandatory Courses

The following courses are mandatory:

  • Vida cotidiana, comunidade e participação: perspectivas teóricas [Daily life, community and Participation: theoretical perspectives] (8 credits);
  • Metodologias de pesquisa em terapia ocupacional [Occupational Therapy research methodologies] (8 credits).

Special Credits

Up to 8(eight) special credits may be granted, as follows:

Complete paper published in a Brazilian or international journal with a recognized editorial board and adequate referee system when the student is the primary author and the paper is related to the study project or applied within the program; maximum of 3(three) credits;

Book chapter of recognized merit in the field of knowledge when the student is the primary author and the chapter is related to the research project or applied with the program; maximum 3(three) credits.

Paper is presented in a scientific congress, the abstract of which or the complete paper is published in annals (or similar) when the author is the primary author and the paper is related to the research project or applied with the Program; 1(one) credit.

Chapter in technological manual recognized by Brazilian and international official agencies when the student is the primary author and the chapter is related to the research project or applied within the program; maximum 2(two) credits;

Filing patents related to the research project or applied; maximum 3(three) credits.

Participation in the Teaching Improvement Program (PAE); 1(one) credit.
